It was a very cold and windy morning, but well worth it as I captured these dramatic streaky clouds with Lee's 10-stop neutral density filter. The day's extreme low tide exposed not-normally-seen rocks resembling large fingers in the sand. The trees in the upper right hand corner are a subtle, yet interesting, feature. Dianna Chianis

After a moderate hike and my scariest shooting location ever, I was rewarded with a great sunset and a resulting mysterious syfy-looking scene. This was a XX sec long exposure using Lee's 10-stop neutral density filter. This view is looking North, so the setting sunlight is coming from the left. The weather-worn tree to the right is in sharp focus.

A constant light rain was falling during our mid-morning walk down Damnation Trail. The redwood trees are magnificent, and the bright green ferns contrast nicely in color. The subject of this image can be debated, but the texture of the bark and the softness of the ferns make this an interesting photo.

While exploring XXX Harbor, I captured this interesting hand-held image of fishing boats sandwiched between a reflective water's surface and a nicely textured mid-day sky. The seagull appears to be inspecting his fleet.

In place and set-up before sunrise, I captured this image the instant the sun peeked over the mountains from behind. It appears as if a spotlight is falling on the rock shaped like a wizard's hat. I used a 24mm prime lens and was careful with my focus distance and aperture to get complete sharpness from near to far.
